Single Origin Coffee from the Yara. Peaberry
| Blackcurrant | Marmalade | Earlgrey |
A great example of Kenyan washed coffee. We have roasted this coffee to a medium/light profile for filter brewing and tweaked the development time to enhance juicy sweetness in the cup.
Additional info:
The Yara Estate where this coffee from has cultivated coffee since 1930. In 1971 the estate was transitioned to local ownership under Gatatha Farmers Co. Ltd, continuing a legacy of land stewardship and specialty cultivation. The upper grounds of the Yara Estate are dedicated to coffee while the lower grounds support tea fields, forests and natural grazing. The soil is rich, deep red volcanic soil, and the rainfall moderate, ideal for slow, even cherry development. Coffee is wet processed, fermented and sun-dried on raised tables to preserve structure and clarity.
